At Compressor Systems, we pride ourselves on providing quality, trusted advice.

Here are some of the questions we regularly get asked.

How can I minimise my compressor’s running costs?

To minimise your compressor’s running costs, we recommend regular servicing to ensure efficient operation and to eliminate air leaks from your compressed air piping reticulation system.

How do I remove moisture from an air system?

To remove moisture from an air system, we recommend installing a refrigerated or desiccant air dryer and associated filtration. These products are available from Compressor Systems.

How do I remove particles and oil from the air?

To remove particles and oil from the air, we recommend installing an inline compressed air filtration system. These are available from Compressor Systems.

How much does a screw compressor cost?

The price of a rotary screw compressor depends on the required capacity of the compressor. Compressor Systems’ warehouse has a comprehensive range of rotary screw compressors in stock. Contact us for a competitive price.

What is the difference between pressure and flow?

Flow is related to the volume of compressed air flowing through the pipe. Pressure is the measure of the air pressure in your system.

Can you visit our site to assess our compressor system needs?

Yes. Members of the Compressor Systems team are available to come to site, free of charge, to assess your requirements. We’ll provide you with site-specific detailed recommendations to suit your unique compressed air system needs.

How do I choose the right size compressor for my application?

To find the right compressor to suit your needs, Compressor Systems can provide an air audit on your system. Simply write down which tools / machinery you use at any one time and forward the details to our team. We’ll calculate the flow and pressure requirements for your site and provide recommended products to suit.

Do air compressors use a lot of power?

Typically, yes. Air compressors consume power based on the HP/KW and load/unload times. At Compressor Systems, we have a wide range of compressors in stock, including the more power-efficient permanent magnet range. Contact us for full details.

Do air leaks in my compressor cost a lot of money?

Yes, air leaks in compressors can affect running costs and efficiency. For example, a 6mm hole in a compressed air system will consume over 15KW of power at 700 kPa pressure, where most places will run at 7kPa.

Do I need to drain the air compressor receiver tank?

Yes. We recommend our customer’s drain their air compressor’s receiver tank at the end of each day. Alternatively, a autodrain may be fitted. Speak with our team to find the right solution for you.

Do you service and look after the equipment you sell?
